Riad Aventurine

This classic and authentic luxury riad, a 6-minute walk from the famous Djemaâ El Fna Square, is located in the heart of the Medina and on the same derb as the well-known Boucharouite Museum. The dominant color in one part of the riad is aventurine green, hence the name, which is derived from the green quartz stone “aventurine” (a ventura = for good luck). In a second section, the dominant color is turquoise blue! Built in the Moorish-Andalusian style (with Fassi and Syrian influences), the riad has a centuries-old history; one part was originally a watering hole (El Charij: watering hole/fountain) for people and animals. Later, it housed a court, where the judge who gave the Derb (El Cadi = the judge) its name also resided. This part of the riad was completely restored and renovated in 2018–19 and opened in 2020. The second section, originally named Dar Cherifate (House of the Noble Ladies), was restored and renovated between 2023 and 2025 and opened in 2026. According to old photographs, both sections bear a strong resemblance to their former glory. Throughout Riad Aventurine, there are 3 suites, 2 junior suites, and 5 large rooms (a total of 32 beds), as well as 2 lounges. The two courtyards are planted with countless climbing plants, palm trees, orange trees, and lemon trees. One of the courtyards features a pool, while the other has a small fountain. One of the riad's highlights is that it features its own massage room and its own hammam!

All suites and rooms offer access to the large rooftop terrace with a view of the entire “Red City” of Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains. The highest point of the riad is the solarium, where you can sunbathe in comfortable lounge chairs and then cool off in the pool. You’ll always find a shady spot under one of the two pergolas. Breakfast, usually served on the terrace, is included in the price of the suites and rooms. We are looking forward to please you!
